McCornack Family Week at a Glance
January 21-24
Dear McCornack Families,
I wanted to share that I will be out on medical leave beginning January 28, with a tentative return date of March 12. During my absence, I have every confidence in our incredibly skilled McCornack staff to continue providing the highest level of care and commitment to our students, families, and one another. To ensure seamless support for our school community, guest administrators Mike Riplinger (1/28-2/14) and Denisa Talyor (2/17-3/11), both retired after long and dedicated careers in 4J, will be on-site to assist staff, students, and families as needed. Thank you for your understanding and support during this time, and I look forward to returning soon.
Warm regards,
Dana =)

McCornack Student Expectations: At the beginning of the year and after each break from school, as a community, we review our expectations for students. Please see the matrix below so that you know what is expected at McCornack. Each week we will highlight a different area of the school. Please take a moment and check in with your student to see if they know the 3 big expectations and how they apply to the specific areas. If you have any questions, please check in with Mrs. Kuhl or anyone on the Climate and Culture team.
This week our highlighted area is the playground: Our basic three school expectations apply outside as well as in the building. See the matrix for specifics about being physically and emotionally safe on the playground as well as being responsible and a caretaker. It's incredibly helpful to go over these with your child at home so that they know that you are aware of McCornack expectations. Please check in with Mrs. Kuhl or anyone on the Climate and Culture team if you have questions regarding any of our school expectations!:

Kidsports FitKids: The Kidsports FitKids program is a sequence of classes and programs starting with children aged 18months and older. The classes provide a sequential pathway for kids to gain skills that allow them to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle throughout their lives.
Fundamental movement skills are the building blocks for participation in active sports and recreational activities. When kids learn age appropriate fundamental movement skills like jumping, catching running, hopping and kicking, it directly helps them to participate in active healthy play at school, after school activities, during PE classes, and team sport opportunities which lead them to a lifetime of physical activity.
**All FitKids classes are open and welcome to kids of all abilities. We recognize that some children will require additional support to participate fully. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to contact Program Director, Beth Nitkowski at bethn@kidsports.org to create a personalized inclusion to support the youth’s individual needs for class.
