This promise helps students to understand that we all believe in them and a way for them to affirm their role at McCornack and in the classroom!
5th Grade Parent Night at Kennedy: All incoming 6th grade families are invited to visit Kennedy Middle School for a parent informational night! This is a great chance to hear from our 6th Grade Team, learn about electives and the middle school schedule, ask questions, and hear from the school principal. We hope that you and your student will join us on May 20th at 6:30pm!

Parents of K-4 students needed for 5th Grade Promotion Set up: We are looking for parent volunteers from K-4 to help with set up so that our 5th grade families can prepare for the evening with their children. If you are available from 4-5:30 p.m, please contact the office.
5th Grade Promotion: We want to have a chance to say good-bye to 5th grade students before they leave McCornack for middle school. This milestone in life is important and we want to honor it! We are planning a walk-through promotion at McCornack for the 5th graders on Thursday, June 12 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Please park in the lot and join the staff lining the bus loop. Students will gather in the back driveway (near the back gym door). One at a time, they will be called to walk through the bus loop and be celebrated! Near the bike racks, students should find their 5th grade teacher to get a certificate of promotion, then enjoy light refreshments and photos with family and friends.
5th Grade Clap Out: We will have a 5th grade "clap out" again on June 13th beginning at 11:15 a.m. Bumble will guide our 5th raiders through the building along a route of K-4 students who will congratulate them. They will exit through the office to the front of the building. Once out front, we will have treats and music for them before we dismiss all K-4 students at 11:45 a.m.. If needed, 5th graders can go back in to gather belongings. Families are invited to join in the grass area in front of the main office to cheer as they exit.

Architects in Schools Summer Camp: This year’s theme is Our Future Together: City Design Adventure. During this camp, students will learn about what contributes to a thriving community, and how empathy and inclusion can lead our design when building a city of the future. They will take on the role of a design and building professional to plan and design their future city with their community, resiliency, and sustainability in mind. By implementing the design process, students will be empowered to lend their voices to create a better future for all! Students will be introduced to technical architecture practices such as drawing, planning, model making, and more.
How it works: The camp is entirely virtual – meaning students can participate from home. To engage in the camp, participants will need a computer, tablet, or other device with access to internet.
Every day, we will email you the digital lesson including hands-on design activities, reading, thinking exercises, and pre-recorded videos. There will also be a live Zoom session every day from 12:30-1:30pm PT. The live sessions are optional but highly recommended so students can meet practicing architects and designers and fully experience the camp content.
Cost: We recommend a participation fee of $25/child. Please choose your payment tier based on your financial resources. No family will be turned away due to inability to pay.
