3/31: McCornack Family Week at a Glance
McCornack Family Week at a Glance![]()
March 31- April 3, 2026
This Week:
Coming Soon:
McCornack Parent/Family Handbook: We strongly recommend families review and reference this handbook (Spanish) which is full of important information about McCornack. Please click on this link once you have read/reviewed the Handbook.
Planned Absences of 3 or more days: Submit pre-arranged absence form to McCornack’s office at least 2 days prior to the absence.
Breakfast/Lunch Menus: Click HERE to access the school breakfast/lunch menus. Breakfast and lunch are provided at no charge to McCornack students. *Menus are subject to change and may be different from what is online.
Seasonal Allergies Reminder: Warm weather is here! If your student is affected by seasonal allergies (itchy/watery eyes, runny nose, scratchy throat), please consider starting their daily allergy medicine now. Antihistamine medication needs time to build up in the system and can help control these symptoms for your child in the coming weeks.
McCornack’s JOY Event: McCornack is excited to host our upcoming Family JOY Event on April 18th from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m, a special day created to directly support our McCornack families and celebrate our wonderful community.
This event is designed to directly support our McCornack families by providing a complimentary meal, toiletries, clothing, food pantry items, and haircuts at no cost. We will also offer a variety of fun activities for children, and representatives from several community organizations will be present to connect families with valuable local resources.
How You Can Help
We are currently seeking donations and community partnerships to make this event a success!
Toiletry donations will be accepted beginning Friday, April 1st in the McCornack office during regular school hours.
Your generosity makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our families.
Please email McCornack at mccornack@4j.lane.edu if you have connections to individuals who might be able to host a table (community organizations, activities for students in the community, etc.).
McCornack Carnival: SAVE the DATE! Thursday, June 4th from 6:00-8:00pm:
We need YOU to help make this fun family event a huge success. Here are some ways you can support this event and our school.
1. Volunteers: Each classroom will be responsible for a carnival game and will need at least 6 volunteers from the class to take shifts throughout the carnival. And there will be other volunteer opportunities to sign up for as well. A volunteer sign up will be sent out via ParentSquare today (3/20). Please find an hour that you can volunteer and you will receive FREE tickets as a thank you for taking time to help our carnival run smoothly.
2. Auction Baskets: Each grade-level is responsible to put together a themed basket for our auction. Please check your child's backpack for a yellow flier describing the theme that you can make donations for. Also, if you have any baskets or bins lying around that you could donate to assemble the items in, then that would be helpful too.
3. Business Donations for the Auction: If you or someone you know has an item or service from a local business that they can donate to our auction, then we will happily accept them. More information about this, including the EIN number, will be going out after spring break.
PTO Carnival Planning Meeting: We’re gearing up for our annual school carnival and would love your help! Join us on April 8 from 6:30–7:30 PM to share ideas, divide up tasks, and help make this event a fun, memorable experience for our kids.
All volunteers will receive free carnival tickets as a thank-you for your time and support.
More details and sign-ups will be shared through ParentSquare before spring break.
If you’ve been looking for a way to get involved, this is a great place to start. We hope to see you there!
