Bring this flyer into Papa’s Pizza on November 9th and our school will receive 50%of the value of the food you purchase! You also have the choice of purchasing Fundraiser Bucks that are good for all future purchases. These Bucks will earn 25% of their value for the organization.

Please come into Papa’s and help us out! With your support on November 9, 2016 we can have a really successful fundraiser! Beverages and delivery orders are excluded. These flyers cannot be distributed at Papa’s Pizza. This fundraiser flyer is valid ALL DAY only on specified date.

Join us for our Bookaneer Book Fair, where books are the treasure!

McCornack families, we need your help to volunteer for our lovely event! No experience needed but we need to make sure you have a current background check:  The process can take about a week or two and we want/need all the help we can get, so make sure you have completed this form as soon as possible if you would like to help!

If you’re already an approved volunteer, here’s three easy ways to sign up to volunteer:

The positions we need help with are: set up, take down, help create decorations, help with prep for the teacher preview, before/after school and working the fair in general, especially for the class previews.  We appreciate any help we can get and thank you in advance!

A Great Start to the Year!

What a great start to the school year!  This was the best start to a school year ever.  We are pulling together as a staff and community to look at attendance, achievement, and equity. We invite our parent community to join us in reading Between the World and Me by Ta-nehisi Coates, a father’s letter to his son about race and equity in today’s world.  It was a powerful book for me to read and was powerful for several staff who read it also.   Please send me an email if you are interested in joining a book group to discuss it or if you want to borrow a copy from our staff.

We are honored to have your students in our school each day and want to work with you to make the educational experience the best for each student.

Popcorn Friday

popcornPopcorn Friday is a small monthly fundraiser run by PTO volunteers which raises money for our school. We need volunteers from 8:00 to noon to help pop and deliver! Please contact our Volunteer Coordinators at if you are interested in helping at any or all of our popcorn Fridays.

If your child would like popcorn, please send them with 5 boxtops or 25 cents per bag. Limit is 3 bags per child.

Open House

Open House, September 22nd at 6:30pm

Come to our Open House to hear your child’s teacher’s plans for the year. You’ll find out about curriculum, routines and expectations—all of which are a great help in getting your student prepared for a successful school year. It is also a great opportunity to ask the teacher questions, volunteer to help out in the classroom and meet other parents as well.

Oregon Battle of the Books


We kicked off our new year on September 29th, getting our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students excited about reading this year’s 16 Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) titles. The books and school timeline are listed below  Students must have permission to participate — forms are available from their teacher or click here to download a copy. As soon as a student is registered, he/she is allowed to check out OBOB books from our library. December 16th is the last day that OBOB registrations will be taken as battles begin in January. jogathonMcCornack PTO Jog-a-thon Friday, September 29th

Jog-a-thon September 29th:   All families are invited to cheer their students on during our annual PTO Jogathon. Money raised for this event goes directly back to our school to help fund field trips, buy library books and other much needed classroom materials. To make this event run smoothly, we need as many volunteers as possible.

Academy Friday



Academy Day:  Friday, September 30th

Students will be released at 11:30am so that staff can attend Academy Day, a learning day for educators to collaborate on curriculum plans in order to ensure all students achieve success.


Meet & Greet



  •         Find out which class you’re in!
  •         Meet your new teacher out on the back playground.
  •         Say “hi” to classmates.
  •         Enjoy ice cold watermelon!
  •         Office will be open for any questions that you have.
  •         Community agencies will be on site.
  •         Meet our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).
  •         McCornack T-Shirts will be available to purchase at $10.00 per shirt.
